I love shopping in and around Denver, there is just so much choice! From the Denver Pavilions on 16th Street in the heart of town to Cherry Creek Shopping Center there are a whole host of international and US brands both high street and designer.
I’ve been to all of these on a previous visit to Denver and would wholeheartedly recommend them!
We went to Colorado Mills just west of Denver, which is a quiet mall housing some cheaper stores and a branch of Yard House – which does great food and drink. We visited a store called Black and White which makes custom baseball caps while you wait. How many times have you had to search for a cap that fits and had to compromise on the design? Not with this store, they will embroider whatever you like on a cap of your choosing from racks and racks of choices!
Another store I really like is the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, which have branches all over Colorado. It’s kind of like a Thorntons but much, much better! From legendary caramel apples to chocolate, fudge and a variety of flavoured macaroons I love them all!
I realised I hadn’t done the stereotypical American thing and gone to an all you can eat place! Some friends suggested The Pub on Penn at Capitol Hill, Wednesdays special was all you can eat wings for $5 with a choice of sauces and domestic pitchers of beer for $8. We had to get there early – it fills up so quickly. I could only eat 12 BBQ wings but some of our party managed an impressive 20! Great value, fun and enjoyed whilst taking in an ice hockey game – one of a few top sports Coloradans go nuts for. I love how patriotic everyone over here is!
